"ketutup" something i miss. Caughting you all up :)

Sorry for the delay. been busy the past few weeks but ill caught ya up now! and there are lots of pictures. I dont like words. plus i suck at writting...and cannot spell. ha enjoy.

This is the school we visit every week
to do a weekly bible story with. We also do songs...in a few weeks i will do some of my uw
songs. haha

The kids just love me taking pictures with them as always. Some i could remember from Bonginkosi...they looked very familiar.

One day we went to a game reserve where there were lots of game. And game i mean places to jump off into the rivers. I have done my fair share of cliff jumping..but this was so much cooler doing it in sa.

Jessie jumped with me. and that is me holding my nose.

The game reserve was beautiful. It was kinda in the middle of the city. right on the side that led into a beautiful cascades of waterfalls and rivers.

This is Geoffrey the giraffe. Regean spotted him out of no where. and there were only two of them in the whole park. so we got so lucky to find them.

they are a bit hard to "spot" ha

We went to ushaka marine world two weekends ago. got to go on the waterslides.... tubes...and rides which was a fun time cuz it was super hot that day. After we went into the marine world. super sweet as usual. loved it.

Then of course ....we went to a SHARKS RUGBY GAME. I loved it again. it was fun to get all into it when I (still) do not know the rules. love the facepaint. :)

Oh, and this is the view of the world cup stadium. Remember that thing that was barely build when we were there? yeah. amazing. you can even take a little ride to the top of the arch. its so sweet.

During missions week i got to go back to my old service site and see everyone! it was truely amazing to go back and see everything that is being done and contiinues to be done.

The tree was still alive and kicking! it was so cool to see some of those prints as mine. Miss this kids and staff alot.

This past weekend we went ziplining and it was just as amazing as the first time! i loved it! we had a solid group and it was soooo much fun! be jealous!

Howick falls. Yes. it is a crazy waterfall that people actually repel down. it is wicked awesome. we went here after ziplining.

Well that is my update this week. I promise the next one will not be too long from now. only around 2 months and a week here. but i am enjoying it as much as i can. till then...

stay well!

tods awesome!

Well i have been working with the foxfires alot this past month. I actually got to go visit them at their training camp about 45 mins away. Its called eloam... or something like that...

it was in the middle of the "bush" meaning it was in the middle of no where. There was lots of farm lands and the skies were amazing! There was nothing for miles and it was awesome. Think imma have to live on a farm when i am older cuz it is amazing to just bask in the sun and have no buildings around. ha

The foxfires have really intense trainings. They do alot ofskits that help them bring the message to life. They go into the townships and schools that allow them and put on these dramas to get to the youth in a relivent way. I think it is pretty neat. They work so hard at them and put alot of energry into making them work.

This is ryno. He is a fellow intern with me. When i first God here i introduced him to alot of american movies which he likes very much. He also got to come to the foxfires camp with me so that was fun to have someone else put input into the foxfires training.

Cole was hanging out with me in my office when a herd of monkeys came running through. Cole was a bit scared but i assured him that no monkeys could get by the "wildcat"! so he was assured. :)

sadly...cole gets bullied at work. everyone wants a piece of cole!

Find the duck on my desk....My other fellow intern oliver constantly takes Cole and puts him in different places...

I am not sure..but from talking to cole..i think he is a bit afriad of heights...

We had a long talk after this incident.

ok so funny story. We always go to mugg and bean at the mall. I always get the same person to serve me and now i have a usually. roobios tea! haha but you cannot resist because they bring you out a tea set!! its is sooooooo coool! when do you go to a starbucks and they bring you out a full on tea set to drink tea? NEVERRRRR. so i may be lame and get the same thing.. but i would not have it any other way. :)

ok.. so again. we went up to the waterfall. But this time we climbed up the last one. And this is the best picture out of a billion that we took. ha

We finally got to the top even after i ate it majorly at the top.

Well... hope you all enjoy! Still living it up for you all!

waka waka!!!

this time for africa

so this past weekend i joined the apu students to go to the birds of prey sanctuary.. you know the place where we all got super sun burnt? yeah... the birds are still alive and kicking. the view was still amazing beyond all words.... i cannot believe how clear and beautiful it is here. i could look at the sky all day..oh and the birds too :)

i sometimes close my eyes and open them and expect to be back at home...but i am not. i am here.. and even if it has its up and downs... i love it.

We also went on the tour of pmb... which was good again to go on because i forgot so much of the area . after we went to the top of the world place. the lookout of all PMB. and because i hang out with the girls of andrew murry.. they adopted me into their chalet picture. so this is some of the cool people i live with..well.. their butts. but its was still just an amazing day. blue skies and some of my favorite clouds were out :)

some more waterfall adventures. Jessie and I decided to lead an expedition out to the waterfalls with a whole bunch of girls! haha non the less it was really fun. there were times when i was a bit nervous but it turned out to be such a good experience for some of them and my relationship with the students. This hike is no hike to the A...its like a hike up death. ha jk..its just really muddy and wet and sticky..but worth the effort. :)

All these girls are amazing! and i love getting to know all the apu students... i feel like i get to help them explore an amazing place here at ae and just talk to them about my experience before..and now with them. well that is all for now!

waka waka!!!!

waterfall.

Fail.

i cannot believe that i was here for a whole semester and i never knew about the waterfalls....

there are like abillion of them. and when i say a billion i mean four..ha

It was a bit of a walk...ryno our guide had to bring his machette to cut away at the wild bush..that def cut me all over.

We got to the first one..and wanted to get on top..so we climbed it... then we just kept going and going...

before we knew it we were here..at this beautiful waterfall!

I never even knew it was there..or else i would have killed it a few times before leaving.. ha

This is us after we conquered it. Jillian can eat this. all her dvd's are not as cool and exhausting as climbing to this waterfall!

accomplished.

Well this is my friend cole, the duck. He has come on my travels with me to south africa. He sometimes likes to take pictures with stuff.. so i have to comply to him and do so.
One of my best friends chanel gave me cole to take with me. I have taken pictures of him at various places to remind my SA family that they are with me!

The cat in the background is tiger.. :)

One lazy rainy after noon in the dinning hall hanging out cuz it was too wet to do anything outside...cept... RUN IN THE GAME RESERVE!

Its really funny to see all the new students in aw of the game reserve... its like they never seen something so amazing... and its because they havent. I guess i now know how i looked like when i first saw the game reserve... such a beautiful moment to see some of the girls on my freshman hall see this beautiful place. :)

Jessie and I went on a run while it was semi/raining.. it was great... we got really wet. ha but it was work it.

this sat i think i will be joining them on their saturday outing to the birds of prey and pmb tour... we are all going to get sun burnt!!! i remember we all did nothing the day after cuz we were all soooo burnt..haha Good times.. hope to have alot more of those while i am here again!

a moment worth waiting for.

well...they are here!! best moment ever!

the apu students arrived and i got the biggest huge from all the girls i knew coming and my best friend jessie. I have missed them dearly but it was such an amazing moment to see them come to a place that i love.

It was amazing to show them around the campus and in the game reserve...we also saw some zebra along the route...and it was their first day!!!! loved it... loved being here with some of my best friends...even if i am in a new role..it is worth it. :)

Well on sunday the foxfire left for training so i had some time to say goodbye as well as encourage them in their training for the next month. I was getting to the point where i was getting close to them but it wasnt too painful to say goodbye.. didnt want to start that process again.

Today i got to go to the mall with the.... good ole mall runs with a whole bunch of americans. But got to stop by mug and bean... brought back many memories... and paying the "bull" haha good times. Def missed some people there today. But once again got to help some people out and where to shop and what to buy...so that made me feel useful.

well another week of work..but i feel a bit more at home now that the apu students have arrived. but i am greatful for the time i had here alone...made me appreciate the moments that i get with my best friends. And i know imma never forget the moments ive had here in sa..and the moments that are yet to come.
